Political Campaign and Logo Development – Trump vs. Kanye

2020 ELECTION POLITICAL LOGOS

KANYE WEST AND DONALD TRUMP FACE OFF AGAIN IN A NEW CAMPAIGN

We have originally written this blog in the early fall of 2015 when political candidates were securing their position in the 2016 election.  A lot has changed since then, but yet again Kanye West and Donald Trump may be facing off in the upcoming 2020 election.

Our design taste and ability has changed significantly since 2015.  We have decided to give an update to our prediction on the Kanye West 2020 campaign logo.  With the minimalist taste that Kanye has been evoking for many years, we believe his logo will represent a similar approach.  Below you can see some of the samples our team has voted on.

And our absolute favorite:

2016 CAMPAIGN LOGOS

2016 election is heating up and candidates are bringing up more and more to the table.  It’s hard not to notice that the graphic and visual part of this election does not stand up to what we have seen in the year of Obama’s first run. Obama’s marketing campaign was brilliant – everything from his social media to digital banner, had a consistent brand behind it.  His slogan, his logo – the campaign was destined for success.

Beyond these great campaigns stands an amazing marketing team. They manage big budgets that fuel up the election process.

We are in the era of flat, bold designs. You can clearly see this trend in the awful Hillary Clinton’s logo. The dislike of the campaign image is almost as big as her e-mail scandal. Yet, someone did advise her to go with the logo representing directions to the hospital.

This year we’re seeing some flames from Rand and Cruz (or maybe it’s a water drop – who knows), Huckabee’s image is way too busy, Bernie – we’ve been there, and Jeb! – is just odd. We almost forgot to mention Marco Rubio and his tiny America…

The unexpected part – the top Republican candidate decided not to create a distinctive image for his campaign. Maybe the blue box with TRUMP inside that appears during each uncensored speech is considered an actual campaign brand.

We know his marketing campaign budget is bigger than all the republican candidates combined. His team can definitely do better.  We suggest make it memorable, because at the end of the day, the election is nothing more than popularity contest.

We just couldn’t help ourselves, we had to design something for Kanye West. And although he is not planning to run in 2016, we thought he would be  a great candidate to face off Hillary. Why wait till 2020, here is something for 2016. Here’s how we think Kanye could brand himself:

Why go East with Hillary when you could go West with Kanye

Beating Hillary would be quite simple.   We used the classic rooster weather vane to represent this in our final logo.

We hope we will see some big presence from our 2016 candidates.  Maybe they can inspire all of us and create not only a strong brand, but also a strong position in their run for the office.
