New Google Fonts for Website Design in 2023

If you are just like me, and you’ve just spent endless hours looking for a blog that simply gives you ideas for some fresh looking Google fonts, this one is finally for you. I promised myself that if I found one more blog that starts with Lato or Montserrat, I would do the research and write a comprehensive blog on fronts that will give you website a unique look in 2023.

We are a WordPress web design agency in Madison WI and we like working with Google fonts.  We do have a fair share of website using Adobe Fonts, but in order to keep the branding cohesive for our clients, Google fonts give us a lot more flexibility.  Not all our clients have access to the Adobe suite and that has been the main reason why we usually turn to Google.  We have been through Roboto and Open Sans way too many times and just like you, we need some new inspiration.

Here are sans serif and serif Google fonts that will help you create a modern and inspired website.

 Sans Serif Google Fonts to Use in Website Design in 2023

1. Sofia Sans Semi Condensed

   This clean font has been created by Botio Nikoltchev and Ani Petrova from Bulgaria.  Sofia Sans was created for the tourist wayfinding system.  This semi condensed version allows to incorporate more copy both in print and on the screen without a large requirement for the space.  The beautiful uppercase W and lowercase g give this font a distinctive look.  It’ s a perfect fit for a manufacturing website, industrial design, municipal websites. There is a beautiful clarity to this type.
   It is available in 10 different styles.

   2. Plus Jakarta Sans

   If you want to class up your website, choose this amazing font.  Created by Tokotype, this font feels like a fresh version of Montserrat that we all were looking for. There is less width to it than the Montserrat font but it has an amazingly clean lines and classic vibes. This font can be used in any professional business website design or in higher size and weight – it can be a great modern hero opener font.

   3. Vazirmatn

   You can’t help to notice its similarity to Arial.  This font is as classic as it gets and with 9 different weights, you will be able to make an entire website design utilizing this font.  The beauty of it is its simplicity.  You can pair it with any font to create an exciting design.  It’s easy to read and can be used with tight paragraph heights. There is a freshness to the design that we absolutely admire.

   4. Sora

   Sora gives off a “techy” vibe.  Use it in any technology website, healthcare or automotive.  The W, g and y have very unique compositions.  You will create something unique utilizing a combination of this font with another simple sans serif.
   

Serif Google Fonts to Use in Website Design in 2023

1. STIX Two Text

   Simple.  Clean. Beautiful. Not too narrow, not to wide type, use it in your theater, educational or other high-end website as a beautiful compliment to any website.  Serif fonts are sometimes hard, but this no-fuss design makes the content shine.  the font is a bit limited in options, but it still should be enough to compose a beautifully developed website.

2.  Roboto Serif

   This Serif font is a good option when you are looking for a wider serif font version. Created by Greg Gazdowicz who has worked as a graphic designer at branding studios, start-ups and non-profits before working in the field of typeface design, this font has a very classic serif approach.  The uppercase S has a beautiful and unique shape.

3. BioRhyme

   For the more fun designs where the font becomes the center of attention, you should opt for this unique type.  BioRhyme is all about the curves and it truly can carry the entire design on its own.  Give this font a shot if you are building a unique portfolio or a fun website that focuses on all of the 2023 trends.
